Post by: liono85 on Jun 26, 2009, 12:33
Hi I just graduated NPTU I am staying to be an ELT-T Any one know how soon you get pro pay or any other special pay. I know you dont get sub pay until you get picked up by your boat... Thanks

If I remember correctly pro pay starts once you have a nuke NEC.  Right now you are either 3365 or 3385, which are both nuke NEC's.  That means you might start seeing that money right quick.  I don't remember how sub pay worked, but you'll get back pay once sub pay starts (going all the way back to the day you volunteered subs).

Congratulations on your selection as ELT.  Welcome to the community.

I'd check with your CCC but before I retired in November, your SDAP (Pro-Pay) starts the day you earned your NEC.  You will get sub-pay when you get to your boat, with back pay effective the day you started training for submarine duty (i.e. the day you started NFAS).  The sub-pay start dates have evolved over the years so they may be different, but I doubt it.  Congrats!
