Hello everyone,
My name is Mike, I am new the Nuke forums. I am sure glad I found this website, as there is a great wealth of helpful knowledge on here.
I recently received a call from Exelon here in Illinois. I spoke with their recruiter about a NLO position. It was a short call with a few interviewesque questions "tell me about yourself", "why do you think you would be a good candidate for this position", just typical questions.
I recently graduated and have a background in Mechanical Engineering and Physics. The recruiter said that with my degrees I could be fast-tracked into an SRO position. I'm curious if anyone knows what being fast-tracked to an SRO would entail. As far as time and training, I am very interested in the position and I am just curious if anyone could offer some insight into this.
Also, I was invited to take the POSS test this coming Thursday. I have gone over the practice test on the Edison Electric website a few times but I would really like a fresh practice test to do so I can time myself. Does anyone know where I could find another POSS practice exam? A google search did not help me much.
One more thing, If I do well on the POSS test and they give me a chance for an interview, what kind of questions should I ask them at the end of the interview?
Any insight that you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Mike

The short answer to your question is that I have never been able to find a second test...please let me know if you have better luck.
Your best bet is to get ASVAB study guides at your local library or bookstore and practice the related questions. Math is the section that most people have trouble finishing in the time allowed.

Check out the info on that link, if you haven't already.
Welcome to NukeWorker.
The topic of Instant SRO has been covered fairly extensively on the forum and most of your answers can be found using the search function at the top of each forum page. Just type 'Instant SRO' and click search and you will get more information than you can take in one bite. We recommend that method to most of the new posters to get familiar with the subjects that are most important to them initially. If you read some of the threads, you will find that some 'recommendations' are given more gently than others, depending on the giver and the amount of 'giving' they have done.
Good luck with the job and feel free to ask questions that you can't find the answers to after you search. Keep us informed of your progress.
Is he looking for "instant SRO" or being fast tracked from NLO-RO-SRO? That is what I have heard "fast tracked" referred to as.
As far as interviewing, Exelon uses the STAR interviewing technique. Google that and you will find plenty of information.
Good luck!
I take the POSS and BMST this Thursday, the recruiter should be there. I'll ask her a few questions to clarify.
