Title: Background check question
Post by: bigblackford on Nov 21, 2010, 02:42
I went in for inprocessing and did the background check i just realized i made a mistake on the start and end dates for my previous employers. Will they deny or will the ask  questions.

Lol no they won't deny you for putting the wrong dates. If they verify the job and the dates are off they will just ask you about it and see if you were wrong on your dates or whatever but if you know you were wrong on your dates you can either let the person you in-processed with know that you put the wrong dates on PHQ, because I'm assuming you are in training still, or you can just wait for them to call you when the dates that you put don't match up with what the company verifies. (If they verifiy)

Either way nothing to worry about.

Depends if you are talking June vs July or 2006 vs 2009.... i.e padding the experience, or just an oversight. Contact them in advance, and let them know if you made a minor error and get it corrected.

Good luck

If it was before your 18th birthday you don't even have to list it anyways. The only reason your high school would have to be verified is because most people are in school up till their 18th birthday and beyond a couple months. But if you were technically not working at the job after your 18th birthday then you don't have to. (I'm not sure just going by what you posted that you did it through high school) If it was since your 18th birthday then yes you would have to list it.

Either way, doesn't hurt to get it verified. You will be fine.

Thank yall for all the help. I have always wanted to work in nuclear and i have made it this far and I just dont want something simple to ruin it. I have never been arrested and only had simple traffic tickets. I recieved a underage possession of alchohol ticket when i was sixteen but when i explained that the only reason i was in the truck was that either i had to drive or my buddy who was passing out drunk was going to drive hisself home. He tore the ticket up and reduced the charge on the window tint ticket to half since it was not my truck. I have made good impression where i have worked and with the people i meet. I have been told by all my employers i am welcome back and my current employer told me he would hate to lose me but he would give me a good reference if they called him. I am very excited about this opportunity. From what i understand if i get clearance i have the job. I've completed all of themedical part now im waiting on security.
