Title: Nuke MM A-School Honorman

I am wondering if there is anything special done or given to a Nuke MM who has completed A-school and was honorman for the class?  Anybody out there know?

Based on our son's comments, not much. You get to sit in front with the other honor men at graduation and are called up individually, get the coin, a certificate, and a hearty handshake.

Then you get sprung for a couple weeks so you can forget your hard earned study habits, gain weight, and lose aerobic conditioning.

Then Power School starts...

They may let him be in a leadership role in NPS.  This could get him a better eval, which can lead to quicker advancement.  That's about it.  When you get to the fleet, no one cares what grades you had in the pipeline.  Your worth is determined by your work ethic, which doesn't necessarily coincide with how well you did in nuke school.  If he wants to be an officer or do an instructor tour later, being honorman might increase his chances of those as well.
