A Bazillion dollar crime has been committed by Jaczko. To hell with Weiner-gate...where's the investigation into Jaczko-gate?

I agree, he complied with the letter of the law but not the intent. Elitism at it's worst.

Is there any other reason to dump this guy now!?!?!?!?

Jaczko is a bully!

Quote
Jaczko, a former aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat who is Yucca's leading opponent, has made a series of decisions that have aided the Obama administration's goal of shutting down Yucca Mountain. His purported reasons for doing so have come under attack by Congress, his fellow commissioners and in-house experts as being contrary to the 1982 law that requires the NRC to review the government's plans for an underground repository in Nevada for the country's spent nuclear fuel.

More telling about his past than working for Harry Reid is working for Ed Markey, which should be an automatic disqualifier for NRC chairman. He was put in this position for the purpose of ending Yucca Mountain. His term expires in a year and a half. Bush nominated him back in 05 in some grand compromise with Harry Reid. Maybe he can see the door earlier:

Washington (CNN) -- An apparently long-running dispute between the chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and its four other commissioners erupted Friday into public view when letters expressing "grave concerns" about his leadership were posted on a congressional website.

According to the letter, posted on the website of the House committee, Jaczko:

-- "ordered staff to withhold or modify policy information and recommendations intended for transmission to the commission;

-- "attempted to intimidate the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards ... to prevent it from reviewing certain aspects of NRC's analysis of the Fukushima accident;

-- "ignored the will of the majority of the commission, contrary to the statutory functions of the commission; and

-- "interacted with us, his fellow commissioners, with such intemperance and disrespect that the commission no longer functions as effectively as it should."

Hopefully we have a President who nominates someone a little more qualified next time....

The appointment of Dr. Steven Chu for DOE Secretary is a good indicator.

Amen to both! Nothing like having the "mouse" run the mouse trap!

I'd like to see a congressman pound on him for his testimony about Fukishima.  There were a whole lot of claims made before congress that turned out to be false.

Members of Congress are openly calling for Jaczko's removal....

A quote from the article is telling...

QuoteSen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), the committee's chairwoman, issued a statement this weekend slamming the commissioners for their "do nothing" culture and said they should be thanking Jaczko for his leadership instead of criticizing him.

After Japan's horrible tragedy, shouldn't the nuclear industry show strength right now instead of having a nut case running the NRC?

A petition to Obama was started on change.org to remove Jaczko from the commission.  Read the petition and sign it at the following link.
