Title: please help
Post by: jimmyk on Sep 17, 2011, 03:56
Can my past arrest record keep me from getting red badged?
I've been arrested twice for possession of cocaine about 17 years ago.   But haven't had any trouble since.
I have an opportunity to get a job at an outage at the local nuke plant.
I haven't worked in 7 months now ,so my family is depending on me getting this job.
I'm just worried about the background check.
Does anyone know what my chances are?

It makes a difference if you were convicted.  People get arrested but if not convicted, it is definitely a different outcome.  Unfortunately, your need for employment bears little on security checks.  It may be better to try for other less security required jobs, or go into self-employment where you can't be fired.
