Title: What are my chances to be hired as a Aux Operator?
Post by: weatherby460 on Sep 22, 2011, 04:05
 Aux Operator/ Entry Level Operations

I get to test for the poss and bmst in a couple weeks.  If I pass, what are my chances of getting hired.

I have a 2 yr AAS in electronics technology and 14 yrs as a electronic maintenance technician for a large company.

I am also still kinda young at 35 if that helps.  Thanks

Better than the chances of getting hit by this ... space debris (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_SCI_FALLING_SATELLITE?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2011-09-21-16-43-11).

It all depends on WHO you are Applying TOO.  No one can answer this question.  Prep for the POSS/MASS and BSMT then if you pass prep for the Interview.  That's all you can do.  IF you are ASKING IF your experience is good enough THEN, YES you are competitive.

Do your best.  That's all you can ask.

Are the tests done via computer or paper?

Is it better to leave the questions that I have no clue about empty, or take a guess.  Basically, do they grade the ones i answered only?

Your chances aren't very good if you can't find what has been covered here 100 times over.

You still have to interview, the tests only get you to that part.

I was just wondering if a 2-yr degree in electronics is good enough for formal education.  I have a pacemaker, so most likely i wont pass the physical anyway.

Do they test anyone that applies, or do they screen them at all?

Does any other business test everyone that applies?  No.

That's why they only make conditional offers until you pass the physical.

Forgive me, but what are the differences between the poss test and the bmst test?  From searching, it almost sounds like the poss test is harder then the bmst test, but the poss test you take first?
