Title: Will they hire me, I have a pacemaker?
Post by: weatherby460 on Oct 05, 2011, 02:29
Can I get hired as a plant operator or a maintenance electrician even since I have a pacemaker.  I am in great shape otherwise, and have no phisical limits.  Thanks in advance for any info.

I've had a recent fight with medical stuff. To maximize your chances, you NEED to get a cardiologist AND a general physician to put their medical license on the line and write on paper they fully clear you for ALL physical activity. Each plant has its own criteria for acceptance, so YMMV. You're going to hear a lot of negativity here, just based on the nature of your physical stuff. Best way to do it is to try it out.

thank you!

Dont. Im just giving you my perspective. My stuff is neurological based, not cardiological. It may be a different beast, and just a suggestion. You REALLY need to talk to access authorization people and the MRO of the plant you are looking at getting in to.
