Depends.
Region II has been doing a lot of hiring.
Southern Nuclear Company (SNC) careers page
Nuclear Planning & Sched Specialist (I&C) - Plant Farley - Requisition Number: SNC2002192
Plant Operator / Technician - Kemper County Generating Facility - Requisition Number: MPC2000430
Plant Auxiliary - Plant Greene County - Requisition Number: APC2002203
Assistant Meter Tester (Mobile, Alabama) - Requisition Number: APC2002225
The reason I picked SNC first is because they have in the past hired Direct RO's at all three nuclear plants. I don't believe that is going to be the case now that they closed their last off the street RO's. It would behoove you to contact someone that works for them and ask if they are indeed going to continue such a hiring practice.
As additional info you should know that with the decommissioning of the Big E (building 65) there will be a ton of candidates that will be vying for those possible upcoming slots in the nuclear field. Hence the reason I placed the non-nuclear positions above. And, also since there are not any open nuclear positions on the SNC careers page.
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) careers page
Technician,Mte-Instruments-Nuc Soddy-Daisy, TN - Job Id: 1000012459
The reason I only placed one job from TVA is because their careers page is much less user friendly.
Duke Energy careers page
Nuclear I & C / Electrical Maintenance Planner - 113618
Nuclear Auxilary Operator (Entry Level), Robinson Nuclear Plant - 111987 This is the only operator position I could find. (Of course you could always check Turkey Point.)Try to create a online profile with each of the utilities with a search bot that would alert you of possible openings in your desired interest.
