One of the members on here recently enlightened me on the thorium technology, and this makes me excited to see where it goes in the future. I hope the US gets really involved and aids in the development and commercialism of this type of energy.

Thorium would be the energy source if uranium was at all scarce. Nuclear power production is not limited by a limited availability of fuel, but rather of places to burn it. Breeding thorium occurs at a much lower breeding ration then say breeding plutonium from U-238. There are enormous stocks of U-238, if we wanted more fuel.
