Nuclear Support Services did have an employee stock option plan. I started investing in 1977 and they went public @ 1982. It was a very good investment for a number of NSS employees.
Having lost a big chunk of my 401k when Enron tanked, I am NOT a fan of owning stock in a company you work for. You are already over-invested just by being an employee.
