I have read many of the already issues and responses which relate to my question. But everyone's problems have their own circumstances and details. So here goes.
Chances of obtaining an unescorted access to nuclear site given:
1. I have a secret clearance already.
2. I recently filed for bankruptcy - details are from 26% income reduction with previous employer. Before that, all accounts were in good standing and paid timely. In the past year accounts became late, delinquent, and charged off. I got financial advice and credit counseling.
3. No criminal background and only one speeding ticket.
I don't have anything to hide and will report everything on the questionnaire, but I really want/need this job but also have another offer which isn't going to require access. Advice....chances....guesses??
Thanks!
As I'm sure you read in other threads honesty is your best chance. I've only held access at one plant so my experience with this is rather limited, but as long as you declare everything I think you'll get in no problem.
I'm sure you'll be okay. Just give a good explanation about your bankruptcy and what you plan to do to fix it and you shouldn't have any problems. Plenty of people with bankruptcy/bad credit history working.
I know plenty of people who work in critical areas that have access with less then stellar credit history.
Thanks for the replies. My biggest worry is I'm going to tell the other job I decline and then I not get access for this job. That would be a bad scenario.

Then take the sure thing, and wait for access to come through....

The only problem with this is one is in a different state and they would be starting a week a part. My access will be determined week one of the guaranteed job. Thanks though.
