It's an interesting, but thin article.  I saw the job postings a month ago for the operators.  I suspect this pugmill would be the first of several cleaning stages to remove contaminants, otherwise why not just dig it all up and ship out west. The beryllium is not going to separated at Luckey.  So the plan is simply to separate the rad-contaminated portion from the non-rad portion.  Then the anthropogenic beryllium-laden soil can be shipped to Michigan for final disposal.

OBTW, I drove past the Colonie FUSRAP on Central Ave. just about two weeks ago,...


still just a big fence covered with black geocloth surrounding 11+ acres,...

land prices are $500,000/acre for undeveloped lots (what few of them there are) on Central Ave.,...

but,....not this land,.... :-\
