They arent modular
But are inherently stable.

They arent modular
Submarines are currently modular, Reactor compartment included.

Just talked to a Virginia class sailor. He said no
employing or involving a module or modules as the basis of design or construction.
each of a set of standardized parts or independent units that can be used to construct a more complex structure, such as an item of furniture or a building
i guess it depends on what the word means....

The Navy and the shipyards say yes.
How New Technology, Better Collaboration, Simulations and Modular Designs Make for Project Success: An Examination of Nuclear Submarine Building4. The interior of the submarine was built in modular parts (some the size of a small house) that could be slid in and out of the hull later on down the road, thus extending overall life expectancy of the class.

A major improvement in the construction process was the development of modular construction techniques. Newport News Shipbuilding builds the stern, habitability and machinery spaces, torpedo room sail and Bow. Electric Boat builds the pressure hull, engine room and control room. Newport News Shipbuilding each build the reactor plant as well alternate on the final assembly and test.

True, but when Newport News builds the reactor compartment and ships it to another shipyard that closely mirrors the SMRs. But I take your point it is an industry standard today meaning many industries nuke or otherwise are streamlining construction methodology..

....A double wide is the most common type of modular home. They represent a happy medium between value-oriented single section homes and luxury multi-section prefab homes. Modular home builders offer double wide homes in a wide range of sizes — from 900 to over 2,000 square feet....
so I guess instead of calling sub sailors bubbleheads they would now be trailertrash?!?!?
