Seriously did you read the article. Has nothing to do with the pipeline. Covers new ground where people are protesting the land use required to replace the plant with a little carbon foot print thrown in. Protests by citizens of New York on land use is the brunt of this article and if it wasn't it is still current news.

Agree, I think closure is a done deal as well. It just shows the unintended consequences of actions with a narrow view. Anti-nuclear activists promoting "environmental justice" and a distorted view of nuclear safety lack the big picture and future transition of better solutions. You could look at the aggressive push to close coal plants that led to running older dirty plants much longer as opposed to building newer cleaner ones that would have eased the transition to newer technologies. Further unintended impact due to the rush to close nukes or coal because of "perceived risk" and "climate alarm-ism" is the impact of reducing the raptor population in the area of the wind farms promoting the growth of their prey which we usually see as pests. Land that nuclear plants occupy in many cases are refuges not so much a wind farm or solar farm.

- the total MW capacity for #41 to # 374 is 6675MW or on average, 19 MW per generator
