I tried to find an old article I read some time ago about nuclear powered tankers but maybe it's too, old as am I. It criticized the combination of nuclear and LNG as a double threat. It included the ban of LNG tankers from harbors as a large rupture that created a large cloud of gas could cause an explosion similar to a small nuclear bomb when it reached an ignition source at the shoreline. Think MOAB that released a cloud of gas that was then detonated with a massive explosion that is big enough to create a mushroom cloud. Not sure that nuclear power as recommended in the article can overcome NIMBYs and chicken littles.
