So I interviewed and was offered a NLO including relocating. I agreed. Then I was told after 6 months I would need to apply and get UA unescorted access security clearance. At that time I disclosed I had a record including juvenile (sealed) recorded and one adult arrest for public intoxication and forgery for being in possession of multiple counterfeit $20 bills. After I said that HR said they would get back to me. This is something I disclosed and was never asked about. I would think if it's a requirement any background check would have been done first or at the least ask about a criminal record rather then moving there to find out I won't qualify. I was getting ready to start putting offers in on houses I have about 2 months to secure housing before I potentially start. I waited a week called hr again no response. What do you think I should do, secure housing still or wait? What are my chances. I read the forums be upfront have documents. My charges were dismissed.
Companies have more than one background type investigation. some companies will do a background for nerf/ferc/company policies in addition to the regulatory background check. If you didn't fill out a personal history questionnaire from the licensees access and ffd department then you are probably in company policy space and they can decide in accordance with their company policy.
I should also note-the phq only asks for legal actions since your 18th birthday. If a legal action was taken but dismissed...you should still list it, but the licensee can't hold the dismissal as if you've committed the crime. They can get you on not listing it tho.
