After the shutdown, a property tax battle ensued. Dominion said this is what its worth, town of Carlton said no, this is what its worth. Carlton was buying in on a value created by a purported SME who was actually a charlatan engineer from Chicago. Carlton vs. Dominion - Dominion won. The payments were deferred during the hearing process, and Dominion was very fair concerning the rather large debt settlement. (~10 million) During the process, the mentioned board chair stated, " I wish the plant was never built". Once a sodbuster - always a sodbuster.
