Better start working out cause unless you meet the standards they will not let you ship out of MEPS, not the Navy's choice it is all up to MEPS. You have to remember that MEPS command follows the rules set up by the services so when the Navy says this is our standard MEPs follows it (NOT WAIVERABLE!!!). You need to see your recruiter right away and get him to weigh you and use measuring tape if your over weight. He/She will tell you how much you need to lose (rule of thumb is 1% body fat for 4lbs). If you get close then there are ways to push yourself at the end to make it , if you need me to tell you well never mind... As for punishment no they do not "punish you for being art the limit,,,, they jsut help you get well below it :'( :'( Might be the thing that save your life some day.
Good Luck!!

I'm going to see my recruiter tomorrow. But I am about 15 pounds over, but probably only 4 inches or so. If I was in very very good shape I would barely make weight anyways as is the build of my body. I'm sure my recruiter will tell me exactly what happens, but do you happen to know if I dont make weight if I just have to sign up for a later ship date or if I'm toast.
