Feeling a little old right now. My submarine was in Newport News shipyard as the Nimitz was finishing construction and testing. I watched her launch metal pallets off the flight deck testing her catapults. Now she is headed for decommissioning. Both of my submarines are decommissioned, and their reactor compartments are in a trench in Washington state waiting on burial. My Nuclear Power school is gone, a grassy field where it used to be. My Nuclear training unit S1W the USS Nautilus prototype out in the Idaho desert is gone and almost completely taken down.

My little bit of old guy nostalgia is over. 😎

The Nimitz was John Christopher Wend's ship who was recently posted in Fallen.
