Two at the Palace. One CRS one SM. Both are top notch. Would take direction from either of them anytime. Both are exponentionally smarter than me.

Actually yes that is how I treat my kids. And yes my kids love me to death. I have a Deans List Junior at Tennessee Tech and a daughter who's teachers call her Assassin because she kills any assignment given to her. She has a 109 Average taking all AP and Dual Credit courses.
I'd put either in a nuclear plant over about 3/4 of the Navy nukes I see posting here.

WOW, Is there a family tradition of turning water in to wine?

Now that's funny....  ;D
Remember who you love. Remember what is sacred. Remember what is true.
Remember that you will die, and that this day is a gift. Remember how you wish to live, may the blessing of the Lord be with you

I hope you treat your kids better than you do the NUBs on this forum.  :) I can only imagine what it's like at your dinner table.

CHILD: daddy, can I be excused from the table?  im not hungry no more.
BZ: You're not hungry ANY more. Take some grammar lessons.  And work on your capitalization too.
CHILD: But...
BZ: Stop whining, NUB.  Eat your vegetables.
CHILD: I don't want to!
BZ: If you don't eat your vegetables, you're going to end up as a janitor pushing a broom for the next 30 years.
CHILD: Daddy, you're mean.
BZ: If you want 45 warm fuzzies and a pat on the head, go ask your mother.

Funny, funny stuff, my stomach hurts now.

I know three.
One has been an engineer at the plant for the last decade or so.
Another went into LOIT after spending some time in chemistry and who knows where else.
The third I think was actually an elementary school teacher before she joined the training department 20 years ago.

Byron had 2 female SRO's 25 years ago. Over the years, they've had more, and the women tend to be promoted quickly through the Operations management ranks. One of the women who was my supervisor when I was a new operator 27 years ago became our Site Vice President, and is now in the corporate senior management ranks.
So while not exactly common, it's not unknown.

Oh, and we have had several (not sure of the exact number, more than 5, less than 10) female SRO's in the years since. The license class that just finished up had one female SRO and one female RO get licenses.

I've taught many a GFE classes as well as RO/SRO license classes, some of which have had female ROs/SROs.  As long as you know your stuff anyone (male or female) is ready to take direction from someone who demonstrates Command and Control!  Have faith and GO FOR IT!
