TVA's long-delayed Watts Bar nuclear plant nears completion

"It's going to be the brand-new eight-track tape player in the fleet," said David Lochbaum, director of USC' nuclear safety project. He also sits on a TVA community action board, an unpaid position. "I think they can do that homework and show the plant is OK."

  • HP Tech......Well Thats My Title Anyways.
I'm amazed every time I read an article that includes any kind of statement from Lochbaum. The guy is a joke and less respectable than Larry The Cable Guy, yet he somehow always gets the opportunity to spread his filth.

Not true. I know Dave and he is actually quite knowledgeable. He loves hearing his own voice but is even handed and knows his stuff. Lots of the fuel pool stuff that happened at Fukushima were predicted by him in the 80s. He is former TVA so he understands a lot of their poor management and decision making. From a pure knows his stuff standpoint I would put him in the top 5 To 7%.

I guess I'll have to take Rerun's word for it.  In my experience, "knowledgeable" and "Union of Concerned Scientists" don't usually fit into the same paragraph.

  • And did I hear a 9er in there?
I can't believe they are even still working on the construction of a nuclear plant since, you know, nuclear power being a dead industry and all.  At least that's what some experts say.

Don't confuse unknowledgable with ignorant .

How can you? Ignorant is a word and unknowledgable is not.

However, ignorant is the antonym of knowledgeable so if it was a word, they would be exactly equal.
