Three Illinois Reactors to Shut if Clean Energy Bill Fails
Exelon Corp. announced May 6 it will prematurely close two of the company’s highest-performing nuclear power plants in Illinois—the single-reactor Clinton Power Station and both reactors at the Quad Cities Generating Station—if the state legislature does not by the end of the month pass a bill supported by the company and other stakeholders to recognize nuclear energy’s clean air value.
