Job description
BHI is looking for qualified candidates for an Advisory Level Engineer for an opportunity in Lynchburg, VA. The Products and Engineering Group (IBPE) performs a wide range of engineering and project activities for all nuclear reactor types, consistent with expertise as an Engineering Services Supplier for the Nuclear Power Industry. We deliver engineering products for power plant modernizations, plant upgrades and equipment replacements, design, operation and licensing analyses.One area of innovation is within our liner and coating solutions, which include buried pipe spray in place liners and component thin-film coating applications. These solutions have numerous applications throughout our customer"s facilities from in-containment coatings to raw cooling water buried asset lining. These products and services respond to a growing industry need to provide effective and efficient aging degradation and corrosion protection solutions as plants age and pursue life extension. To meet these industry demands and best match solutions to customer needs, Framatome is pursuing various liner and coating qualifications to ensure our proven products can be used within nuclear safety related applications. IBPE has the technical lead of this endeavor and is responsible for the development and execution of qualification programs that support liner and coating product application within nuclear safety related applications to address customer needs with Framatome solutions. General Summary: Under broad supervision, provides subject matter expertise and advisement to the liner and coating product development team focused on development and execution of qualification programs for both buried pipe liner and coating installation within nuclear safety related applications. Act as the primary SME for all non-metallic liner and coating technical activities that support product development, product launch, and execution of customer projects. The advisory engineer should have strong connections and experience within various coating and non-metallic industry working groups and strong familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards, specifically associated with structural qualification of non-metallic piping. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Subject Matter Expert Technical Advisement - Working with the liner and coating product development teams, provide SME support and advisement to guide the team through product qualification program development and execution, including structural qualification activities.
Product Qualification Engineer - Take a leading role in the development of the product qualification program for two main product areas: 1) Structural Buried Pipe Liner and 2) Nuclear Coating Containment Applications.
Product Qualification Engineer - Take a leading role in the execution of the developed product qualification, including developing specifications, qualification plans, and reports and advise / support qualification analysis and testing activities.
Support Product Strategy - Support the product manager in continuing to develop product focus areas and strategies based on SME"s industry experience and connections.
Product collaboration with other BUs outside of IBPE - Advisory Engineer will collaborate and integrated with all business units involved (IBO, IBN, and IBPE).
Provide support and input to proposal development.
In conjunction with the product manager attend/support industry functions, such as working group events and conferences.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.Non-Metallic Liner SME Advisory Engineer:
BS in Engineering or Science discipline plus 15+ years of coating / non-metallic liner work experience. Advanced degree may be substituted for related experience (MBA/MS 1-2yrs, PhD 1-3 yrs).
Must be proficient in the use of WORD, EXCEL, and POWERPOINT software.
Preferred ProfileThe following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.Experience with applicable non-metallic liner/coating codes and standards
Experience with structural design of non-metallic piping / lining
Experience with ASME, AWWA, ASTM
Extensive history with industry coating / Lining working groups (EPRI, American Coatings Association, etc.)
Strong multi-disciplinary technical background to cover all aspects of product development (structural, mechanical, chemical, environmental, etc.)
Understanding of nuclear environment, including all applicable regulations and code requirements that must be met for safety related liner and coating applications
Proven history of customer relationships
Strong communication skills
Ability to work across business teams
