Expected salary range of $73,800 to $82,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

The Buyer is responsible for the negotiation, ordering, procurement, facilitation, and processing of resale products and materials, which include HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Water Heaters, tools, and other related products and materials to be used by the sales, installation, and service businesses. The Buyer has direct supervision of Purchasing Assistants and Sr. Purchasing Assistant's in the Procurement unit. The Buyer promotes and reinforces safe operation and environment.


Primary Duties and Accountabilities

  • Assists in the negotiation, ordering, procurement, facilitation, and processing of resale products and materials. Handles day-to-day buying and re-buying functions on a model specific basis.
  • Monitors inventory and interact with suppliers daily to maintain adequate stock levels for pre-approved models.
  • Keeps and updates sales records by model by brand; prepares sales trend charts and offers suggestions for model selection to Procurement Manager and General Manager of Operations Support.
  • Assists in the development of procurement strategy; negotiates contract prices, payment terms, and conditions; establishes vendor performance standards; authorizes invoice payments and manages vendor relations.
  • Acts as a liaison between product suppliers and manufacturers and the sales, installation and service divisions of the company with respect to product updates and customer service.
  • Lead Purchasing Personnel in Operations, including HVAC Majors, parts, accessories, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliance, Water Heaters, and will assist Manager Procurement with other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years of relevant professional experience including: work in negotiations, retail purchasing, inventory management and control, supplier relations, and sales
  • Basic knowledge of company operations and HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and water heating
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with suppliers, management, and internal personnel
  • Proficient in computer systems with the ability to analyze data and provide informed purchasing recommendations
  • Demonstrated competency in the knowledge and skills for the job
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing and available to work overtime when required
