position is primarily responsible for project leadership involving testing and
component failure analysis at Exelon PowerLabs Wilmington, Illinois facility. Specifically, this position performs as an Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
Project lead for oversight of component testing and failure analysis
investigations for Exelon and commercial customers of Exelon PowerLabs. In
addition to establishing test plans, issuing technical reports and approving
test results, this individual must operate standard lab testing equipment
and perform hands on testing.  


  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs.

  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.

  • Provide complete task management of engineering issues.

  • Perform engineering tasks as assigned by supervision applying engineering principles.

  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.

  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs.

  • Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
  • Provide electrical /
    mechanical engineering
    technical expertise to
    , manage and implement project test plans involving component failure
  • Perform laboratory testing and issue test reports in support of
    Exelon nuclear plant commercial grade component dedication testing and parts
    quality initiatives.

  • Issue accurate and complete technical reports for failure
    analysis projects. 
  • Complete assigned projects and work in a timely manner in
    accordance with requested due dates and internal department goals.


Possesses specialty skills and performs advanced tasks independently with minimal supervisory review.
Performs engineering tasks independently and actively imparts knowledge to others. Must be able to manage and implement engineering analysis and technical programs. Has wide latitude to make technical decisions within accountabilities.



  • B.S. Degree in 
    electrical engineering or equivalent technical degree

    - 5 years of relevant technical experience

    - Excellent verbal and written communication skills   

    - Basic PC and computer operating skills.

    of obtaining and maintaining access to nuclear plant.




    with use of standard electrical laboratory equipment.


    working with high voltage lab equipment such as: Impulse systems, Dividers and

    with IEEE standard 4 and IEC 60060-1/2


    mechanical or electrical component failure analysis experience


    with design and function of standard power plant equipment such as valves,
    pumps, instrumentation, breakers and relays.


    background knowledge of standard nuclear industry materials.
