Xcel Energy is offering an internship for Online Learning Development and Support (Summer: 35-40 hours per week; Academic: 12-20 hours per week) at the Xcel Energy corporate headquarters in downtown Minneapolis.  The intern will work for Learning Services in the Human Resources organization.


< span style="font-size:11pt">Positi on Summary

The intern will support eLearning development and may include designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining creative online learning solutions (including course content, interactivity, simulations, and games) using sound instructional design.


Minimu m Requirements

  • < span style="font-size:11pt">Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program
  • Sophomore status or higher as of Spring 2020
  • Critical thinking, excellent writing and interpersonal skills required
  • Must be self-motivated, have a good learning aptitude, and the ability to work well with others
  • Ability to apply current and emerging technologies to learning solutions



  • Academic focus on training and development, instructional design, education, or human resources
  • Experience designing and developing interactive eLearning programs (incorporating graphics, animations, audio and other multimedia elements)
  • Webpage development experience
  • Academic year availability
  • Ability to work full time during the summer (35-40 hours) and part time during the academic year (12-20 hours)
