Starting pay rate is $31.98.hr
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The position will be within the Shop Department and is responsible for performing general mechanical maintenance on power plant equipment. The Shop team supports a culture of continuous improvement by participating in training, reinforcing standards, reporting, and mitigating unsafe or undesirable conditions, and utilizing the corrective action program.
This position may regularly require 20% travel.
Job Scope:
Position reports to CGS Maintenance Foreman
The incumbent in this position must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization. Knowledge of plant equipment functions including safety rules and rigging, construction and maintenance practices.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex mechanical problems and make repairs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Machinist (job specific): Performs precision machining operations on various manual and CNC shop machinery such as, but not limited to; vertical and horizontal milling machines, lathes, grinders, drill press, boring mills and band saws, CNC experience, CAD/CAM programming, machine set up, operate and troubleshoot. Performs precision dimensional inspections of mechanical components with high degree of accuracy. Assists in the shop overhaul and repair process of large mechanical components such as pumps, fans and valves. Additional responsibilities include, performing precision machining operations in the field on equipment too large or uneconomical to bring to the Machine Shop, using boring bars, tooling components, milling machines and drilling machines. Fabricates precision replacement or repair parts for all types of power plant equipment from all types of metallic and plastic material working from blueprints, sketches, samples or other written or verbal instructions. Takes precision field measurements and prepares sketches for fabrications and repairs. Inspects and repairs steam turbine, gate, globe and control valves in the field and shop. Operates shop cranes. Drive forklift. Assist other maintenance and modifications crafts. Note: May be exposed to heat, dirt, noise, confined spaces, and nuclear power plant environment. Frequently required to work overtime on short notice or may be required to work shift work to respond to emergent business needs. The individual should be self-motivated with a strong work ethic. Attention to detail and quality are essential. The person should have pride in their work and be flexible to adapt to constantly changing priorities. Good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance of components. Understanding of shop math and trigonometry to set up machinery and check accuracy of work. Possess time management skills. Welder Fabricator (job specific): Perform high quality structural welding to AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX pipe welding. Operate Shop equipment such as hi-definition plasma table, press brake, shear, plate roller, etc. Perform maintenance and repair work on plant equipment as required. Perform assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner at the direction of Maintenance Management. Execute work package when assigned to the level of training received. Ability to work on cross-functional teams on major projects while adhering to the conduct of maintenance and established maintenance standards and practices. Use, review and recommend revisions to procedures, prints, technical manuals, and other documents as required to the level of training received. Provide technical support to plant operations, maintenance staff and engineering to the level of training received. Interpret and understand power plant prints. Perform verification checks on maintenance items covered in maintenance technician training. Operate shop cranes. Drive Forklifts.
