Job description
Job Description:        
Requires general knowledge of establishing performance objectives, metrics, and requirements for developing, implementing, and maintaining a nuclear material control and accountability (MC&A) program for U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), including the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Typical activities may include:

Developing a regulatory compliant MC&A Program, including implementing procedures based on threat and a graded safeguards approach
Defining material balance areas (MBAs) and item control areas (ICAs)
Developing a job task analysis-based staff qualification and training program for the MC&A manager and custodians, measurements and statistical specialists and TID applicators.
Developing requirements for operational and maintenance support to MC&A systems such as scales and balances, access control and measurements systems.
Installing computerized material accounting network with provisions for equipment at MBA workstations to support measurement and TID programs
Determining state-of-the art equipment for measurements (i.e., NDA assay and scales), TIDs with barcodes and advanced access control systems
Developing MC&A software V&V program
Authenticating nuclear material data management systems
Developing initial and on-going MC&A equipment calibration programs, especially for equipment that are used to establish accountability values

Education: BS in engineering, science, math or related field plus 10 years of experience.
