Expected salary range of $113,400 to $126,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position coordinates with External Customers such as External Counterparties, Independent System Operator's and Regional Transmission Organization's as well as Internal Customers such as Wholesale Trading, Structured Risk and Mid-Office Support. The Power Scheduler proactively schedules power and ancillaries by region as determined by the daily portfolio position. This shall be completed while ensuring compliance with FERC, NERC and ISO requirements as well as Constellation's Power Scheduling procedures to achieve positive results for Constellation

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Communicate on a daily basis with External Counterparties to confirm positions and determine the applicable schedule, either through the creation of physical paths for flow of power or through financial Bookouts.
  • Obtain OASIS reservations from Regional Transmission Organizations and create corresponding tags using this transmission (accuracy and evaluation of various cost of transmission types is required)
  • Create schedules in the respective Independent System Operator's system as necessary.
  • Utilize internal scheduling systems for confirming position and accurately recording all flow of power.
  • Generate reports at the end of each day to confirm all power has been scheduled as well as provide a record for our Real-Time desk to utilize to manage all day-ahead positions on a real-time basis.
  • Verify monthly positions with Wholesale Trading then perform monthly checkouts with External Counterparties.
  • Remain current with the markets we operate and proactively support those market changes that impact the group.
  • As required, actively participate and support system upgrades 9 Perform required training to be compliant with Company training requirements.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years direct experience Physical Power Scheduling experience or an equivalent energy related position.
  • Knowledge of North American Power markets (PJM, MISO, ISO-NE, AESO and ERCOT markets).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to think independently and creatively.
  • Solid computer skills including proficiencies with database applications, spreadsheets and web-based systems.
  • Ability to multi-task in order to meet tight deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree or other technical degree.
  • Experience working in a trading organization.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Operational plant or utility experience
