 Expected salary range of $139,500 to $155,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

LOCATION

This is a territory-based role supporting projects and vertical markets within Western Pennsylvania. This role will cover a territory that ranges from Pittsburgh and surrounding Western, PA, with some overlap into OH, WV & MD. Our ideal candidate will live within greater Pittsburgh, PA area, as our office is located in Warrendale, PA. 

This position requires 75% travel, locally within the geographic territory to attend project site meetings. Travel expenses, including mileage, are covered by Constellation’s standard travel policy.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Principal Construction Project Manager (PM) leads project teams and plans, directs, and coordinates activities of large-scale, energy efficiency-focused commercial construction projects.  Ensures that projects are completed safely, with a high level of quality, & on-time and on/under budget. Manages all aspects of project phases, from pre-construction to completion. Act as primary liaison with clients, develops subcontract and procurement documentation, including scope of work, equipment/material lists, and specifications.  Negotiates subcontract and procurement scope, and terms & conditions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Leads, plans, directs and coordinates all activities of projects to ensure that goals/objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters

• Manages all parties involved (internal and external) and ensures professional project management from system design through construction and close-out phases

• Owns and enforces safety policy on all projects, to maintain the highest level of safety at all times

• Develops and reviews project schedules, cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scope of work, standards and quotes from suppliers
• Supervises and tightly controls project implementation
• Manages/leads the following aspects of Project Management Support:
  • Shop drawings & submittals
  • Change order development and processing
  • Requests for Information (RFI’s) responses
  • Project progress, scheduling, and invoice preparation & tracking
  • Financial planning and cost forecasting/scheduling

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’ degree and 8+ years of construction project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Must possess, at minimum, OSHA 10 certification, OSHA 30 preferred
• Experience preparing construction project estimates and value engineering
• Experience directing, supervising, training employees, & assigning and directing work; & managing and coordinating subcontractors
• High level knowledge of all financial aspects of project management and demonstrated thorough understanding of cost estimating and budget projections
• Expertise in construction project management methodologies, managing projects in accordance with construction contracts, and excellent understanding of engineering and construction documents and processes
• Ability to review design drawings and understand mechanical, electrical, plumbing and architectural plans and specifications 
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and experience in handling challenging situations where tact and cooperation are crucial to cost-effective operation
• All candidates must have the ability to professionally speak, read and write English. Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation; requires excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail
• Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of this position, including walking for long distances, lifting up to 50 lbs, and climbing ladders & scaffoldings 
• Must have solid computer skills and aptitude using Microsoft Office applications, as well as project scheduling applications, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar
•  Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle
• Federal Security Clearance (HSPD12 minimum) or ability to get clearance 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, highly preferred
• 10+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects
• Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) experience, highly preferred
• Commercial HVAC knowledge/experience, highly preferred
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification   
• Experience managing M.U.S.H. market projects - K-12, highly preferred. 
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, environmental) or construction management discipline, highly preferred
• Experience managing State or Federal government construction projects, strongly preferred 
• Previous experience managing multiple Prime subcontractors on projects - over $20M, strongly preferred
• Design Build contract experience, strongly preferred
