Job description
Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Radioactive Waste Characterization Engineering opportunity for our customer in Oak Ridge, TN for the ORNL Facility.

Qualifications Summary
•        Requirements
o        Engineering degree or equivalent experience
o        10 years or more experience developing radioactive waste characterization documentation
o        Experience with isotopic distribution development using sampling and analysis, computer modeling, and extrapolation from published sources
o        Strong technical writing skills
o        Fluent in the use of spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and documenting engineering analysis including calculations

•        Preferred Skills and Qualifications
o        Nuclear Engineering degree
o        Experience with shielded radioactive waste packaging
o        Radioactive material shielding analysis
o        Basic understanding of instrumentation used for radioactive material measurement

•        Estimated Period of Performance: 12/02/2019 – 09/30/2020
•        Schedule: 20 - 40 hours per week; On-Site
