Job description

Duties include but are not limited to:

Supports and coordinates work with principal investigators, line managers, program managers, and relationship managers in managing research projects.
Responsible for conducting project management assignments according to and in compliance with INL/BEA project management policies and procedures.
Supervise, guide, develop and implement project scope, establish, and meet budgets and schedules for assigned projects and experiments.
Responsible for technical comprehension of R&D and business systems throughout the project life life cycle.
Provide leadership to project teams including research, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction, quality and other required services.
Manage full project scope from formulation through design, fabrication, installation, startup, operation and closeout.
Identify and resolve problems in a timely and effective manner.
Conduct and/or support program leadership in meetings and presentations with customers.
Ensure quality objectives and policies of INL/programs are understood by project staff and met throughout project execution.
Establish industry, university, and other national laboratory contracts and cooperative agreements as assigned by management.
Develop and maintain a high-performance project team, working with program and line management as appropriate.
Responsible for providing guidance to technical leads and program managers when establishing scope and evaluating options on scope, quality, performance, budget and schedule.
Identify process improvements and work with management system owners to improve and streamline.
Demonstrated ability to integrate technical information from the requisite disciplines to make informed sound technical judgement that are required during the course of execution of the experiment life cycle.
Sufficient knowledge of supervisory and project-management practices to enable effective monitoring of the technical aspects, guidance of the experiment team, and resolution of operations, technical and project interfaces is required.
Position requires working knowledge of business and management systems, facility systems and research operations.
Preference for project management tools (e.g., scheduling software (Primavera 6), EVMS, cost estimating, etc)
Must be able to obtain a government clearance.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
Must be able to obtain a PMP Certfication
PM 1: 2-5 years or experience
PM 2: 5-10 years of experience
