Job description
Spectra Tech has an immediate need for a Safety Professional ​in Oak Ridge, TN.

Provide daily Safety Professional support to Y-12 Construction. Activities may include hazard identification and development of controls; accident/incident investigation; technical safety support related to interpretation of laws, codes, standards, regulatory requirements and policies/procedures. Direct support activities may additionally include daily oversight of work activities, facility oversight inspections and walk-downs, and assistance in developing work activity plans. Other related duties may be expected at the direction of Industrial Safety and Hygiene Department management.

Support of various Industrial Hygiene work across Y-12 complex as needed. IH support providing noise sampling, confined space sampling, daily job coverage, chemical hygiene walk-downs, hazard analysis recognition, attend meetings, interface with facility managers and craft, and other IH support as required. Shall be able to use judgement in carrying out assignments and work independently to evaluate and apply technical concepts to solve daily problems.

Four-year technical degree in an ES&H Discipline plus a minimum of three (3) years safety and health experience in related construction work environments (may substitute work experience for the technical degree). Thirty (30) hour Occupational Safety and Health Standards in the Construction Industry training course (OTI 510) or equivalent.
