Expected salary range of $129,600 to $144,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Senior Scheduler is accountable for accurately scheduling and nominating all physical transactions completed by the Fuels Traders in a timely manner consistent with pipeline and downstream utility deadlines. The Senior Scheduler will obtain an accurate forecast thereby allowing the management of transportation, storage and balancing contracts to a high level, as well as becoming a viable backup for all other schedulers within the Fuels group. The Senior Scheduler will also be expected to demonstrate leadership by training & mentoring others, identifying and leading process improvement initiatives, being a key contributor to business development initiatives, partnering with trading to negotiate transportation & storage agreements and enabling agreements. Senior Schedulers are expected to maintain relationships with key counterparties and participate in key trade associations to gain market intelligence and facilitate commercial activity. The Senior Scheduler is expected to have an understanding of internal stakeholders (trading, volume management, accounting, settlements, etc.) and can effectively support reconciliation efforts during bid week, intramonth, and volumetric tie out during accounting close for themselves and other members of the team. LOCATION & SCHEDULE This role offers remote & hybrid flexibility. Our ideal candidate will live within commuting distance to one of our office locations and have the ability to participate in in-office meetings and collaboration, as needed. Office locations include Baltimore, MD; De Pere, WI; or Louisville, KY. We are also open to this role being fully remote for strongly experienced individuals. Fully remote candidates must reside in the USA and be able to able to work EST or CST time. Candidates who reside on the East Coast or in the Midwest strongly preferred. This position requires on-call hours that may extend to weekends and holidays. The On-call schedule typically rotates, with required hours every 3-4 weeks, however additional on-call hours may be required during major impact events (e.g. sever weather, etc).

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Accurately schedule/nominate receipt and delivery of physical commodity based on any Fuel Traders' transactions.
  • Manages fuels scheduling functions, ensuring accurate and timely nomination of gas supplies and delivery schedules for all fuels. Trains and mentors other schedulers.
  • Proactive communication and reconciliation of positions during bid week and intramonth in conjunction with trading, volume management, and external counterparties.
  • Develops and maintains up-to-date fuel delivery contingency plans to be used during supply/transportation disruptions from adverse weather or peak network demands.
  • Manages seasonal/monthly/daily forecast and storage levels to ensure minimal storage fluctuations thereby minimizing all associated costs.
  • Reconciles commodity invoices for demand, transportation, storage and usage components
  • Partner with trading to negotiate transportation, balancing and storage contracts. Assists with business development initiatives. Partners with Credit and Legal to negotiate enabling agreements.
  • Manages transportation, balancing and storage contracts utilizing knowledge of applicable tariffs and rates for assigned utilities and pipelines and is able to help other schedulers work through critical issues.
  • Interact effectively with other members of Constellation to develop broader regional and portfolio management strategies and coordinate execution of transactions.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key suppliers, service providers, and internal customers. Has the ability to participate in projects as a "subject matter expert".
  • Interacts effectively with internal departments to insure transaction compliance.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree and 8+ years business experience or equivalent combination of education and related business experience
  • 3+ years scheduling experience for one or more energy commodities (e.g. coal, oil, natural gas, electricity)
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, including creating and using pivot tables, macros, and v-lookups
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products
  • Strong analytical orientation
  • Ability to perform in a changing environment under challenging conditions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

? Prior natural gas scheduling experience for either retail and/or wholesale transactions ? Bachelor's or Master's degree in business economics, finance, engineering
