Job description
Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Waste Package Certifier (WPC) opportunity for our customer in Oak Ridge, TN for the Y-12 National Security Complex.

Clearance Requirement:
•        Due to nature of work, candidates must already possess an active DOE Q Clearance, or have a DOE Q Clearance that is reinstatable (having undergone a reinvestigation within the last 3 years).
•        DoD Top Secret "TS" Clearances will also be considered.

Position Overview:
•        Ideal candidate will have a significant background and experience in waste management and transportation.
•        Position will report to the Waste Certification Manager/Official (WCO) and be responsible for certifying that waste packages have been prepared, filled, closed and secured per applicable procedures, regulatory requirements, DOE requirements, and disposal facility acceptance criteria.
•        Will support management and cohorts as needed and will work to ensure waste placed in Department of Transportation (DOT) approved packages comply with waste management procedures, DOE orders, regulatory (Resource Conversation and Recovery Act, Toxic Substances Control Act, applicable Codes of Federal Regulations, DOT) requirements and disposal facility acceptance criteria.
•        Position must be able to identify prohibited items and segregate from acceptable items and ensure waste has been properly characterized, profiled, and prepared, prior to packaging.

•        Minimum High School Diploma (Associates preferred), with 10+ years of applicable experience.
•        Prior NNSA / DOE experience preferred.
•        Security Clearance is required.
