About Washington River Protection Solutions
Washington River Protection Solutions is the U.S. Department of Energy’s prime contractor responsible for safely storing, retrieving and treating chemical and radioactive waste in underground tanks at DOE’s Hanford Site in southeastern Washington—one of the most challenging jobs in the world. The current clean-up schedule calls for operations through the lifetime of treatment and disposition of tank wastes, scheduled for completion in 2047. Ours is a world-class project offering world-class career opportunities. We are aggressively seeking professionals who want to make a difference.

We currently have internships and full time positions in the areas of mechanical, chemical, civil and electrical engineering, safety and health, radiation control, project controls, and business services.
Our Project & Our Company
Washington River Protection Solutions, the prime contractor for Tank Operations Contract, manages and integrates a full range of work to support cleanup of the U.S. Department of Energy's former nuclear production facilities at the Hanford Site. Our employees are dedicated to bringing our values of safety, integrity, teamwork, and excellence to every facet of our challenging mission.

Professional Challenges. You will be challenged by one of the most complex environmental challenges in the country. The work here is unique and will challenge you to engage all of your talents and think outside of the box.

Making a Difference. The environmental impacts to the Hanford Site are a legacy of the Cold War. As such, cleaning up this site is a priority of federal, state and local governments. Protecting the Columbia River from future contamination is critical to the quality of life for the entire Pacific Northwest. A career at WRPS will provide you with an opportunity to truly make a difference.

Our Community. Hanford is located in southeastern Washington State along the scenic Columbia River. The largest of the surrounding communities, the Tri-Cities region has a population of ~ 240,000. Three rivers, nearby mountain ranges, more than 100 parks, nine golf courses, and over 32 miles of paved bike/hike paths provide unlimited sporting and recreational opportunities. And the weather is great! The Tri-Cities has a sunny, mild desert climate and averages more than 300 sun days annually. Add strong schools, excellent medical services, low crime rates, some of the finest fruit, produce, and wine to be found anywhere, and we think you'll agree that this is a terrific place to live and a challenging and rewarding place to work!
