<BR> <BR>JOB SUMMARY <BR>The Instructional Technologist (IT) is an experienced training expert with in-depth knowledge of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and accreditation process. Primary duties include training instructor development and ensuring that training department performance leads the industry.<BR><BR>Southern Nuclear, a subsidiary of Southern Company, manages and operates six nuclear power electric generating plants that provide approximately 20 percent of the electricity used in Alabama and Georgia. Southern Nuclear is leading the nuclear renaissance by building the first new U.S. nuclear reactors in more than 25 years. When completed, the two Westinghouse AP1000 reactors currently under construction at Plant Vogtle will make the facility the largest in the U.S. with four reactors on one site. This is an exciting time to join the Southern Company team and share your talents with a growing and progressive organization!<BR><BR><BR>JOB REQUIREMENTS<BR><BR>Educational Requirements<BR>? High school diploma or equivalent <BR>? Bachelor's degree in education (or related field) is highly desirable
<BR>Background/Experience Requirements<BR>? 8 years? experience in technical training or education preferred. 5 years? experience as a qualified instructor in a commercial nuclear accredited program preferred.<BR>? Detailed experience in/knowledge of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process is required.<BR>? Detailed knowledge of the INPO accreditation process is required.<BR>? Experience in a leadership role preferred.<BR>? Detailed experience in/knowledge of causal analysis, performance analysis, and self-assessment principles, including report writing is preferred.<BR>? Experience with Vision and Learning Management System programs is preferred.
<BR>MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES<BR>? Effectively coach and mentor the training staff at Southern Nuclear. <BR>? Observe and continually evaluate instructors in all training settings. Provide real time feedback or coaching dependent on qualification and experience of the instructors to improve performance. <BR>? Provide oversight and assistance to instructors in the analysis and design activities for the accredited programs. <BR>? Evaluate training material quality against standards and provide coaching on how to improve.<BR>? Manage all aspects of the site instructor training program. This includes maintaining all the training design basis documentation, training materials, interfacing with INPO, scheduling of resources, and ensuring the qualification of new instructors meets the need of the organization.<BR>? Ensure training data bases are implemented and maintained at the site such as VISION, Learning Management System, and Training Observations.<BR>? Advisor to the site Managers and senior leaders on accreditation and instructor performance.<BR>? Manages governance of SAT principles for the Southern Nuclear fleet.<BR><BR>Other Requirements<BR>? Any applicant accepting this position will be required to meet the background screening and NRC Fitness for Duty requirements.<BR>? Any applicant accepting this position will be required to meet the physical requirements of the position.<BR>? Selected candidate must fill a designated position in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
