Job description
Atkins Nuclear Solutions seeks a Technical Writer to join the nuclear team in Albuquerque, NM.

The selected individual will organize, write, edit and produce a variety of documentation within a technical project. They will support technical meetings, support project reviews, and collection and management of records of decision. They will be required to gather information about needs, objectives, functions, features and requirements. They will perform writing tasks for technical documents such as reports, white papers, procedures, user manuals, installation manuals and help documents. They will edit material for structure, completeness, accuracy, organizational consistency and appropriateness of content.


They must be detail oriented, able to handle multiple priorities, have strong writing, editing, and analytical skills.
Experience in the development and execution of technical documentation as part of completing deliverables.
Able to demonstrate competence with the design, development, configuration management, and maintenance of technical documentation.
Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers to elicit needs, solve issues and make documentation recommendations.
They must have effective verbal communication skills, and work well independently and within a team.
Position requires excellent listening skills.
Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Current or re-instatable DOE Q-clearance required; current L-clearance considered.
Must be US citizens.


Experience with software testing a plus.
Experience with Visio is a plus.
BS or BA with a minimum 5 years technical writing. Degree equivalency will be considered.
Technical degree in conjunction with technical writing a plus
