Job description
QUALITY ENGINEER

Conduct quality assurance activities related to special inspections in accordance with the IBC during construction at the WIPP Site. Special inspections are required for building components identified in IBC when the design of these components is required to be performed by a professional engineer or architect. NWP needs ACI reinforced concrete inspector certified or ICC reinforced concrete special inspector certified and has a Post Tensioning Inspector certification. Inspection items include fabricators for pre-engineered structural components, fabrication process for prefabricated wood products, as well as for materials such as:

CERTIFICATIONS

* ACI Reinforced concrete inspector

* ICC reinforced concrete special inspector

* Post Tensioning Inspector

EXPERIENCE

* Concrete

* Masonry

* Structural Steel

* Soils

* Sprayed fire-resistant materials

* Mastic and intumescent fire-resistant coatings

* Exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS)

* Smoke-control systems

* Any special cases as determined by the building official

EDUCATION

Technical Bachelor’s degree plus 5-10 years of experience in a related engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical) with the activities above or a combination of education and relevant experience deemed acceptable by NWP.
