Job description
Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for Five (5) Procurement Specialist opportunities for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the LANL Site.

Procurement Specialist 1
Education/Experience
o Bachelors degree required or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
o Entry level – 2 years finance related experience required

Responsibility level
o Exercises minimal independent judgment with direction from supervisor

Skills
o Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills (Required)
o Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals and other technical data (Required)
o Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information (Required)
o Ability to predict consumer buying patters
o Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing (Required)
o Knowledge of supply chain management (Typically required)
o Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel (Required)

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability and other relevant factors
o Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts
o Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services
o Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods

Procurement Specialist 2
Education/Experience
o Bachelors degree in finance or a related business field required
o 2-4 years finance related experience required

Responsibility level
o Exercises moderate independent judgment with direction from supervisor

Skills
o Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills (Required)
o Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals and other technical data (Required)
o Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information (Required)
o Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing (Required)
o Knowledge of supply chain management (Typically required)
o Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel (Required)

o Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals and other technical data (Required)
o Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information (Required)
o Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required)
o Ability to evaluate suppliers
o Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing (Required)
o Knowledge of supply chain management (Typically required)
o Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel (Required)

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability and other relevant factors
o Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts
o Manage just-in-time inventory
o Attend trade shows
o Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services
o Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods
o Negotiate, renegotiate and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives
