Job description
Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for Engineer opportunities for our customer in Richland, WA to support the Hanford Site. WA state PE strongly preferred. PEs with reciprocity to WA state also desired.

We are seeking Jr. to Sr. level Engineers as indicated per the scope descriptions and minimum qualifications listed below.

Work Location: Work shall be performed in office locations at the 200 West or 200 East Area.

Description of Work:
This work is to provide engineering and technical services to maintain and support Hanford Site Waste and Fuels Management Project (W&FM) operations. W&FM is tasked with managing the 200 East Area Fuels Facilities, and 200 West Area Solid Waste Operations Complex (SWOC) and T Plant. W&FM is responsible for safely and compliantly storing, treating, and disposing of a wide variety of solid wastes and nuclear materials; providing integrated waste treatment, transportation, storage and disposal services for Hanford cleanup projects; management of stored fuels and capsules, including 1,936 highly radioactive cesium and strontium capsules in underwater storage; retrieval and packaging of legacy transuranic waste for off-site disposition; and treatment and disposal of mixed and low-level radioactive wastes.

Typical areas of engineering/technical support include but are not limited to:

•        Providing electrical/instrumentation and controls, mechanical, structural, civil, architectural, chemical, HVAC, human factors, and fire protection engineering support.
•        Supporting facility preventative maintenance program.
•        Troubleshooting repair and equipment issues.
•        Coordinating with crane, ventilation, and other original equipment providers to obtain timely support.
•        Preparing 3D Solidworks / AutoCAD renderings of designs
•        Providing specifications for fully detailed, issued for fabrication / construction designs
•        Providing mounting details and interference checks
•        Overseeing fabrication, and providing red-line and as-built drawing incorporations.
•        Providing failure modes and effect analysis, proper descriptions of attributes and characteristics using standard quality clauses and enhanced/engineered quality provisions
•        Overseeing commercial dedication process for safety significant items
•        Identifying systems and components in facility requiring weather protection during roof replacement efforts
•        Managing projects within authorized technical scope, schedule, and budgets.
•        Performing constructability reviews at all levels of design.
•        Developing outage plans.
•        Resolving NCRs or deficiencies report items
•        Overseeing construction, factory functional acceptance testing, and operational acceptance testing.
•        Providing CERCLA waste site cap design by a licensed engineer with previous experience at other sites.

Labor Categories:

Principal Engineer

Scope Description:
Provides technical direction to assigned engineers. Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. Has extensive experience in general engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with at least 15 or more years’ engineering experience at a nuclear facility. A Master’s degree in engineering or a professional engineering (PE) is highly desired.

Senior Engineer

Scope Description
When assigned, may direct the work of other Engineers. Under general supervision, does conventional design engineering and analysis. Plans and conducts independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with at least 10 years of engineering experience at a nuclear facility. A Master’s degree in engineering or a professional engineering (PE) license is desired.


Scope Description
Under general supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with at least 5-9 years engineering experience at a nuclear facility.

Entry Level Engineer

Scope Description
Under supervision, performs standardized assignments using standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineer discipline, with 0-4 year’s experience.
