Job description
Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Sr. Electrical/Controls Engineer opportunity for our customer in Oak Ridge, TN to support a DOE project. Must have an engineering degree and be able to qualify as an AHJ.

Position Title: Sr. Electrical/Controls Engineer


Baccalaureate in in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 8 years job-related experience with 3 years nuclear/DOE experience preferred.
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter, and must be able to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.
Able to satisfy Company training and qualification requirements, including DOE-STD-1170-2007, Electrical Systems Functional Area Qualification Standard.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Stops work without fear of reprisal for unsafe conditions potentially affecting personnel safety or environmental risk.
Performs 600 volts and less electrical design, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and safety activities; qualifies as a Systems Engineer as assigned.
Prepares Facility Modifications, Field Change Notices, Engineering Change Responses, drawings, sketches, plans, procedures, and reports as required; ensures that the complexity is appropriate for the application; maintains knowledge and configuration management of as-built SSCs.
Performs or participates in Design Reviews, Equivalency Evaluations, and Commercial Grade/Legacy Item Dedications as assigned.
Maintains knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70); Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E), National Electrical Safety Code (ANSI C2); 29 CFR 1910, Subpart S; 29 CFR 1926, Subparts K and V; DOE Order 6430.lA, General Design Criteria; and other applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
Assists the Company Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction with the Electrical Safety and Unlisted Equipment Approval programs;
performs the role of Electrical Equipment Inspector for unlisted equipment as assigned.
Assists other organizations as directed by the Engineering Manager.
Supports the execution of Integrated Safety Management System guiding principles and core functions and the Company Safety Culture.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Possesses executive ability as is required for performance of the position and has through experience and/or education, the knowledge of standards and work practices used in the installation, operations, construction, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Strong communication, verbal and written skills.
