Job description
Responsible for the supervision, daily coordination of support activities for BHI Energy employees assigned to the plant/station to ensure assigned scope of activities are performed in a safe, effective, and cost efficient manner in accordance with BHI Energy and the client's policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Represent BHI as a member of the Plant/Site Management Team using independent judgment and exercising discretion.
2. Supervise Superintendents and monitor work process for site tasks and activities.
3. Accountable for site safety and ALARA goals and objectives.
4. Direct responsibility for the day-to-day assigned activities.
5. Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with the required documents. The supervisor has the authority to stop work at any time when it is determined that the work is below quality or when continuation threatens the design integrity or safety of the structure, or when work practices threaten the safety of the workers.
6. Ensure sufficient qualified personnel are available to execute the required activities.
7. Manage assigned work scope.
8. Provide oversight of the Site Safety Program.
9. Provide oversight of subcontractors.
10. Provide continuous identification of cost reduction measures.
11. Identify opportunities for improvement.
12. Proactive in efforts to achieve performance improvement goals.
13. Participate in Work Observation Program.
14. Lead by example.
15. Maintain high awareness of first time evolutions, elevated risk, and significant work activities.
16. Supervise Work Control Superintendent and monitor work control process for site tasks and activities.
17. Interface with client and site designated oversight.
18. Perform other related duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment as well as an industrial environment observing employees, their progress with assigned work, and interfacing with both employees and client employees with a moderate to high noise level. The employee is required to don the appropriate personal protective equipment while traversing an industrial environment requiring various degrees of protection.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
An ideal candidate will have at a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or construction related field, or five (5) years equivalent experience with a nuclear utility at the manager or superintendent level. Must have a minimum of ten (10) years working with craft labor and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of nuclear experience. Strong working knowledge of Utility Outage Planning and Scheduling required. Must be able to successfully complete Radiation Worker Training. Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Must be able to read and interpret detail prints and documents and have excellent presentation skills. Ability to work at varying heights, cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or extreme cold, and loud (above 89 decibels) environments required. Proven ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior, integrity and trust. Knowledge of BHI Energy processes and procedures and utilization of developed tools to most effectively manage work is essential. Must actively demonstrate the BHI company values and support the BHI Ethics and Standards. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of BHI and client technical manuals and procedures; to pass BHI and client specific training and qualifications as required; subject to personnel call out as required in support of nuclear station emergent work requirements; to work overtime, to include shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed; and be able to pass all background and screening requirements for the position, to include drug and/or alcohol screening.
