Job Summary




Innsbrook Special Projects ? Digital Instrumentation and Control (Digital I&C), located near Richmond, Virginia, is looking for an Industrial Engineering intern to support the project the summer of 2026. The Digital I&C team is working on a large Project Portfolio to upgrade / retrofit at both the North Anna and Surry power stations from analog-to-digital control systems and main control room upgrades. The role would focus on supporting the engineering design and provide engineering support for implementation for various Digital I&C projects. Job duties will include but not limited to:





  • Supporting development of Engineering Change Package and System Requirements Specification documents including field walkdowns, interfacing with the plant Maintenance, Operations, and Training staff, and working with vendors.


  • Support the preparation/review of engineering studies to evaluate recommended equipment/system replacements in order to provide technically sound engineering solutions.


  • Support the preparation and revision of specifications for the design of new or replacement electrical, instrumentation and control (I&C), Digital and/or Computer equipment and interface with vendors to resolve technical matters.


  • Must possess an understanding of basic computer principles and practices


  • Possess basic analytical and conceptual thinking


  • Basic knowledge and experience in digital systems and programming and mechanical/electrical interactions (e.g., robotics or similar skill-set)


  • Ability to evaluate problems and make sound decisions




Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience




Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Industrial, Systems, or Biomedical Engineering program at a four-year college or university




Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0




Must have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later
