PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

To perform installation, inspection, maintenance and repair work on mechanical equipment such as packing pumps and valves, disconnecting, connecting, and insulating pipes, welding, and operating machine tools where close tolerances are not involved.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist mechanics of higher classification by performing such work as disassembling and assembling equipment, rolling and expanding tubes, repairing, and resealing valves.
  • Maintenance and repair work on buildings and equipment.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or educational equivalent
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing
  • Ability to work different shifts
  • Ability to receive unescorted Nuclear access.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills
  • And ONE of the following:
  • Associates degree in a technical field OR
  • Three years minimum related Mechanical military experience OR
  • Three years minimum Mechanical Industrial Craft Maintenance experience that includes completing a bona fide trades training program OR
  • Five years of Mechanical Industrial Craft Maintenance experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Weld Certified
  • NCCCO (Mobile Crane Cert)
  • Internal Valve Machining Experience
