Expected salary range of $146,700 to $163,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Proactively identifies, evaluates, and implements opportunities to minimize the Company's federal tax burden. Serves as a specialized technical resource on matters related to federal taxation. Helps to manage cross-functional project teams to implement federal tax strategies, and also assists the Tax Department's involvement in corporate transactional matters and other legal matters. Works closely with the Director and Senior Manager, Federal Tax Planning, in coordinating the Company's tax policy considerations and related efforts, monitoring and evaluating pending federal tax legislation and regulatory and administrative guidance and assists with coordinating with the IRS on audit matters. Reports directly to the Senior Manager, Federal Tax Planning.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsibilitie s include reviewing statements and elections included in the tax return, preparing complex portions of the tax return, and ensuring adequate workpaper documentation. Overall, responsible for technical portions of the tax return to be in a state to be effectively reviewed by Key Managers.
  • Independently researches & concludes on various complex tax issues to determine the appropriate tax treatment and related tax reporting. Research includes preparing written memorandums for review by Key Managers and technical presentations to senior tax leadership.
  • Proactively identifies, drives, and implements process improvements that promote risk management, streamline activities, and enhance transparency in tax work streams.
  • Assists (with Senior Manager, Tax Planning) in complex controversy matters with governmental agencies.
  • Assists with coordinating comment letters on various IRA matters impacting Constellation. This includes summarizing other parties' comment letters.
  • Serve as project team member for compliance with prevailing wage rules in IRA including coordinating workstreams with Supply, HR and Legal.
  • Activities include assisting in formulating position statements with respect to identified controversies raised by tax authorities.
  • Investigates, concludes, and responds to inquires regarding tax matters made by organizations within Constellation. For example, interaction with the Constellation HR is common to advise on personal use of corporate jets.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • An LLB or JD from an accredited law school.
  • At least 8 years of related Tax experience.
  • Good working knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • 40 hours of ongoing annual continuing professional education will be required of all professionals in the Department (at the Company's expense).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA or MST.
  • Energy industry experience.
