Business Data Analyst II - $69,700 - $82,000

Business Data Analyst Sr - $90,100- $106,000

Ranges are per year based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401K

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Business Data Analyst roles (BDA) are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of customer and account data in our internal systems. These roles provide advanced technical support to the sales and account management team and serves as the primary liaison with other functional groups for pre-deal related issues in the sales cycle. The BDA focuses on advanced data interpretation of usage data, identifying inconsistencies, and developing technical and analytical skills to influence the direction of C&I gas systems and processes to deliver self-manufactured solutions. These roles take a proactive approach to mitigate potential risks, detecting and addressing any data inconsistencies or gaps before they impact operations.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Data Analysis: Maintain processes related to the flow of historical usage data, troubleshoot issues that may arise throughout the prospect-to-customer life cycle, and ensure data accuracy and consistency. Utilize advanced data interpretation techniques to identify inconsistencies and improve overall data quality. Question any inconsistencies and manage Electronic Data Interface (EDI) requests with utilities. Demonstrate expertise in troubleshooting complex EDI and data-related issues. Mitigate potential financial risks by proactively identifying and addressing any data inconsistencies or gaps.
  • Utility Knowledge and Relationship Management: Stay updated with changes in utility requirements for usage data requests. Collaborate with utilities to retrieve data. Question data related to historical usage and other associated properties data. Work with the Operations team to establish standards across utilities and ensure compliance.
  • Influence Stakeholder Engagement: Respond to Salesforce cases requesting usage data, exhibiting expertise in retrieving and validating data. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams and utility providers, to ensure seamless data exchange and accurate insights. Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and expertise to make recommendations on complex data-related issues.
  • Process Optimization: Take a lead role in driving process improvements, leveraging expertise to identify opportunities for efficiencies and automation. Assist with the development and implementation of new processes, including cleanup projects, new hire training, and the optimization of existing systems. Make data-driven recommendations to stakeholders regarding process enhancements and identify areas for improvement.
  • Resource and Escalation Point: Serve as an internal resource and initial escalation point to resolve challenges related to data validation processes and system synchronization. Act as a liaison between sales, internal functional groups, and customers/channel partners to ensure open communication and coordination throughout the data validation process and contract execution.
  • Travel required as necessary to meet business needs.
  • In-person attendance for trainings, team meetings, and other moments that matter.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Business Data Analyst I

  • Bachelor?s degree, or 2 years of equivalent experience in lieu of the degree
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; demonstrated effectiveness in collaboration and building rapport with employees and customers across various levels of the organization.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, capable of establishing and maintaining partnerships both internally and externally with customers and channel partners.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality for all information handled.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Business Data Analyst II

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a 4-year degree.
  • Proven track record of strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and independent decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; demonstrated effectiveness in collaboration and building rapport with employees and customers across various levels of the organization.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, capable of establishing and maintaining partnerships both internally and externally with customers and channel partners.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality for all information handled.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Business Data Analyst Sr

  • Bachelor?s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience, or 9 years of equivalent experience in lieu of the degree

  • Elevated knowledge in Excel (creating and using pivot tables, macros, and vlookups) and MS Office Suite experience.

  • Reporting and dashboard knowledge in Salesforce.

  • Proven track record of strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and independent decision-making.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; demonstrated effectiveness in collaboration and building rapport with employees and customers across various levels of the organization.

  • Strong relationship-building skills, capable of establishing and maintaining partnerships both internally and externally with customers and channel partners.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

  • Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality for all information handled.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment, including exposure to high-volume data analysis and support operations.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel macros, and C++ is highly advantageous, allowing for advanced data manipulation, modeling, and visualization.
  • Previous experience in the energy industry or a related field, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of industry-specific data requirements and practices.
