Expected salary range of $198,900 to $221,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

We are seeking a highly driven and strategic leader to lead, scale, and optimize a recently formed department to support company growth and expansion while developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies aligned with construction and commercial initiatives for both brownfield and greenfield projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can transform manual processes into scalable, data-driven systems, enhancing efficiency while managing costs. This role also supports the renewables and wind businesses. Oversee the formulation of Commercial Growth and EPC sourcing strategies, including direct input and negotiations, and collaborate with Commercial, Development, Construction Execution, and Legal functions to maximize opportunities, reduce company risk exposure, and deliver cost savings. Report to the Chief Supply Officer and assist in setting Constellation wide Supply Chain Management strategy. This role is critical to support Constellation's overall growth strategy across the fleet and requires a blend of operational and commercial acumen.


Primary Duties and Accountabilities

  • Directs Sourcing Managers within department, including the spend analysis, negotiation, sourcing, business plan development, and execution to meet all materials and/or services needs for key Constellation Business Units.
  • Governs and oversees Supplier management and relations, standardization, process improvement, negotiations strategy, commodity strategy, and specific supply chain business planning, for all dedicated business units critical needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conducting supplier evaluations, performance reviews, and identifying opportunities for collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to supply chain disruptions, compliance, quality, and regulatory changes.
  • Assures the focus and attainment of both Constellations business goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to sourcing team, while maintaining an environment that promotes diversity, integrity, and high productivity.
  • Develop and execute a long-term supply chain strategy that supports company growth objectives, capacity expansion, and new market entry.
  • Partner with Strategy, Engineering, Finance, and Asset teams to align plans and ensure execution support.
  • Lead the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) workstream as part of the Supply Chain Transformation initiative.
  • Support the broader Supply Chain Transformation agenda, with specific focus on the Category Management and Strategic Sourcing workstreams.
  • Support overall Calpine integration efforts.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Technical Program and 12 years of experience
  • 12 years of related experience, including 5 years as a supervisor or manager
  • Experience with large construction project execution, sourcing, negotiations, and contracting
  • Experience with power plant generation, transmission line, substation development experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of supply chain management, strategic sourcing, negotiation techniques, inventory management techniques, contracting, and contract management
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and their application in integrating supply management with work management systems
  • Proven high-level management skills in coaching and facilitating business competency
  • Demonstrated project and change management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust and communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process enhancements and efficiencies
  • Demonstrated business acumen, customer awareness and ability to create value
  • Travel required approximately up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or related field
  • Experience supporting construction field and industry projects across both large and small scale brownfield and greenfield environments
