Expected salary range of $137,700 to $153,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

Plans, coordinates, and supervises activities associated with the development and implementation of Constellation's Nuclear Clean Energy Center (CEC) simulator training programs. Coordinates simulator maintenance and testing activities to ensure performance meets line management and regulatory expectations.


Primary Duties and Accountabilities

  • Provides functional direction for the planning and execution of the development, implementation, and evaluation of simulator testing-based on training programs needs in accordance with prescribed department procedures, regulations, and other requirements.
  • Assures that the CEC simulator, related training facilities, equipment, and materials adhere to required regulatory and industry standards.
  • Performs all administrative and managerial duties associated with supervision of the assigned functions.
  • Oversees and verifies that simulators are current and incorporate relevant information such as that gained from Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) and Constellation's Significant Operating Experience Reports, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) bulletins, CEC design change and back-fit information, nuclear unit procedure changes/revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
  • Provide coordination for inter-group efforts to facilitate completion of simulator work schedule.
  • Administers contracts for simulator projects including needs assessment, bid specification preparation, bid evaluation, and managing procured services.
  • Develop strategies, forecasts, and plans to meet long-range projects to support simulator upgrades and modifications.
  • Support CEC and fleet in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, emergency preparedness duties, and special projects.
  • Must achieve Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification within 18 months of assuming the position.
  • Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, education, or training with 2 years of related experience OR
  • Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license or instructor SRO certification with 2 years of related experience OR
  • Associate's degree in science, engineering, education, or training with 4 years of related experience OR
  • High school diploma or GED and 6 years of related experience OR
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous or current senior reactor operator license or instructor SRO certification
  • Previous training simulator experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)
